Hand Stitched Quilts

where to get cheap fabrics for quilting in Amsterdam?
Hi everybody,
I will be in Amsterdam from 21/04-24/04 and I want to do a little shopping there. My to-buy list: fabrics for quilting, x-Stitch kit and second hand books (in English). Could you please recommend me some shops with not very high price?
For second hand books there are several stores, which is best for you depends on which kind of books.
I often go to the American Book Center: http://www.abc.nl/index.php
If you like science fiction, it is a must, but they do have some second hand and cheap offers on other kinds of books too, (only in English.)
De Slegte is the best known chain for second hand books in the Netherlands:
http://www.deslegte.com/filiaal_home/amsterdam Not cheap, but a lot of books, most topics the English books are mixed between the Dutch, best ask for help to find your favorite topic, unless you love bookstores and can spend a long time just wandering about.
You will find some of those, and a several more, on this page: http://www.amsterdam.info/bookshops/
One of the markets in the next link is a book market, the one in Oude Manhuis poort, and in that area there are also many second hand bookshops, but I do not know them well so I do not know whether they will have English language books.
For fabrics for quilting, one of the many markets.

See this list, I can recommend Albert Cuyp market for stalls with a good selection of fabrics, but they will be meant for making clothing, of even for the house, rather than quilting.
I know there are several stores specialized in quilting fabrics in Amsterdam, but I can not recall the addresses. I think I remember on on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, (that is between the back of the Royal Palace that has its front on Dam square, and Amsterdam Historish museum, or even a little farther down that same street.
A shop for fabrics, again mostly for clothing, is in the Nieuwe or Oude Hoogstraat. (From Dam square follow dam straat and go straight on at its end, near the kite shop.)
For your x-Stitch, again have a look at the markets, also the stores behind the market stalls on Albert Cuyp market, and if you find a store that has textiles, or yarn, or patterns, ask for other places that sell things like them, because most owners will know other shops with related items.
I can not really help here, as I do buy my craft materials in other cities, and mostly they are of a slightly different kind.
