Learn How to Quilt
Do you want to learn how to quilt, but just haven’t gotten around to it?
Basics of quilting

First you should learn about, and understand the tools of your craft, and the materials that you will use. There are three basic parts to a quilt: the top, batting (padding) and back, and of these the top is the part that most people think of when they hear the word ‘quilt’.
You should also learn a bit about the fabrics you can use, and which require pre-washing. If your quilt is to be washable, you will have to make sure that the colors will not run, or you could end up with your quilt becoming a different color.
You should also decide if you are going to make your quilt by hand, or use a sewing machine. While hand sewing gives you more of a flavor of what quilting is about, machine sewing is a lot quicker.
